A little about us

The Fishing Crew was founded in 2008 by Dave Underhill and his son, Curt Underhill, with a simple but powerful vision: to create a new-age fishing tournament experience built around family, friends, and accessibility. Born from a deep passion for fishing and the fishing community, The Fishing Crew set out to redefine what competitive fishing could look like for everyday anglers.

From the beginning, The Fishing Crew focused on one-day, close-to-home fishing tournaments that allow anglers to compete without sacrificing weeks of vacation time or the high costs associated with traveling across the country. Not everyone has the ability—or desire—to chase large, multi-week tournament circuits. Our events were designed so anglers of all backgrounds can come together, enjoy competitive fishing, and still make it home to their families.

Today, The Fishing Crew is led by Curt Underhill, Team Lead and Director, who continues his father’s legacy while driving the organization forward with a modern, professional approach to tournament management and promotion. With the support of a dedicated team, Curt is focused on growing The Fishing Crew into a premier tournament organization—one that delivers fair, fun, and well-run events while setting a higher standard across the industry.

Rooted in community and driven by experience, The Fishing Crew remains committed to running fishing tournaments that are better organized, more accessible, and more enjoyable than the rest—for anglers, sponsors, and fisheries alike.
