Dave Underhill
Dave began his fishing career at the age of four, growing up on a lake in Minnesota. His parents gave him the opportunity to fish every day. Dave feels this gave him the fever to become the best fisherman he could be. He has always loved the competitive side of fishing and has fished in professional tournaments in the 80’s and 90’s. You can still find him competing today in local events on the lakes and rivers in South Dakota.
In 2006, Dave decided to find a way to be able to continue to be around the tournament fishermen without having the pressure that goes into preparing for a walleye tournament. Dave took the love of fishing and his gift of gab and put them to work as the MC for the Lowrance Pro Team Walleye Circuit. The show aired on The Sportsman Channel for two years. When the Lowrance production was completed, Dave continued to use his gift of gab when Mike Max from WCCO Radio called to talk about the South Dakota Outdoors. Mike recognizes Dave as one of the premier guides in South Dakota.
Dave is not only an avid fishermen; he is also a hunting guide for waterfowl and upland game. Dave has run a guide service in South Dakota for over fifteen years. Dave loves people and loves to entertain them with stories. He feels that a good story is what makes a fishing or hunting trip, no matter if the trip was a success or not. When you can make people laugh and let their hair down, you have done your job as a guide. Dave is currently the CEO/Host of The Fishing Crew Pro Challenge. Dave lives in Huron, South Dakota with his wife Cindy, daughter Leah, and son Curt, who is active in the outdoors and a part of the show.
