Take off was from Cow Creek on Lower Lake Oahe. We fielded 29 Teams and although not a full field of 60, we feel we are earning and establishing our reputation. Despite today’s economy and the uncertainty in the Tournament World, we are continuing to make major strides forward within the Industry… and most importantly with the Anglers. Always remember the Anglers are our main focus and the rest will naturally follow. We look forward to gaining more teams as we progress and encourage you to visit with competitors who have fished with us to learn first-hand what we have to offer. Please note the next Event is scheduled for Sunday August 8th at the West Boat Ramp on Lower Lake Oahe. The bite is just beginning to progress down the Reservoir and this should make for a great bite and an exciting Tournament. I would expect some larger weights to come in for this.

The fourth installment of the Fishing Crew Pro Challenge was held Friday July 9th on Lower Lake Oahe. Fishing Crew Pro Staff Doug Iverson and Troy Erickson went head to head with Charity Raffle Ticket winner Jason Person and his partner Willie Glow. The Pro Staff proved their mettle and brought four nice fish into the scales Friday afternoon, with the Competitors only managing three.

Although they came up a bit short-they still took home $1,000 for the days efforts. In the end, a very good return considering all had a great day on the water with beautiful weather- and the fact that we are continuing to raise a great deal of money for Local Charities and Cure Kids Cancer. We at the Fishing Crew are dedicated to making all of our efforts focus on the Anglers, Charities, and promoting the sport we love to everyone we can reach.
This was evidenced by the large attendance (239 Children at best count) for the Kids Day Event held prior to the Pro Challenge Weigh Ins. This proved to be a very special event for not only the Kids involved, but for us as well. Seeing the kind of support we received and the smiles on the Kids faces makes our entire behind the scenes efforts worthwhile. We would like to thank all of the Organizations, Tackle Companies, and Local Businesses that made this a success.

We would also like to extend a special thanks to Bob Probst, Sr. for helping out, as well as Tim and Staff from DakotaMart. Seeing Bob Sr. working one on one with the Kids was a personal highlight of my entire career in this sport. Through all the ups and downs, turmoil, and uncertainty in the fishing world-this just proves that there are some truly great folks out there who always have the right motives in their hearts.

Please take a moment browse this site to learn more about us, where we are headed, and how to become a part of what we humbly feel is the strongest and most growing organization in Walleye Fishing today.

Jason Person of Pierre, SD has been drawn as the latest Challenger in The Fishing Crew Pro Challenge. He accomplished this by purchasing his raffle ticket from his best friend since 3rd Grade, Wille Glow. Proceeds from these tickets go to Cure Kids Cancer and to local charities. Jason has returned the favor and chosen Wille as his partner to go head to head against Fishing Crew Pro Staffers Doug Iverson and Troy Erickson. Jason informs us that he is very grateful for the opportunity and the chance to contribute to a wonderful cause. This should make for an interesting match up as Jason is a Pierre native and no stranger to Oahe or its’ walleyes.

Doug and Troy are locals as well and will prove to be a tough duo to compete against. But, as is always the case with anything involving fishing…anything can and does happen. The bite is just starting to take off on Lower Lake Oahe and there is definitely big fish potential to quickly swing the odds. At stake for Jason and Wille is $2,500 if they can outpace the Pro Staffers and even if their efforts fall a bit short-they will still take home $1,000. The competition will take place on July 9th and the weigh ins will be held at Steamboat Park near the Chamber of Commerce Building in Pierre, SD at 4:00 P.M. We welcome and encourage you to come watch and you may even want to show up a bit early and bring a child along as we will be conducting a Kids Day Event for local youth with numerous activities and prizes for all children attending from 2:30 P.M. until the weigh in.
